Cascade’s HFC (Hydraulic Force Control) Wins 2010 European Fork Lift Truck Association Environmental Award for Excellence

Leicestershire, England 02/27/10 –
At an award ceremony held at the Barceló Hinckley Island Hotel Saturday, Cascade’s U.K. Country Manager, Andrea Evison, accepted the coveted “Archie” statuette on behalf of Cascade Corporation. Developer of the HFC, Dave Petronek was pleased that his concept won the prestigious award, stating that the primary purpose for developing the HFC was to reduce product damage. Conservative figures estimate global paper waste due to damage at approximately 75,000 tons annually.



The HFC is designed to help eliminate waste due to the over clamping of paper rolls caused by excessive clamp force. HFC is a hydraulically controlled automatic clamp force system that automatically changes the clamp force proportional to the load weight. It works by continually sensing the hydraulic pressure necessary to lift the load and adjusts clamping pressure to correspond to the weight of the load.
